Why does a landing page convert at 1% when the traffic and offer are good? Run any landing page through this 9-point framework and the answer almost always falls out. Use it on your own pages, your competitors' pages, your client pages.
The nine teardown points
5-second test — what does a stranger think you do after 5 seconds?
Promise — is the headline a specific benefit or a vague feel-good?
Proof — testimonials, logos, numbers visible above the fold?
Objections — are the top 3 buyer objections answered on-page?
CTA — primary CTA repeated 3-5 times, all friction-low?
Mobile UX — does the page work without horizontal scroll, with tappable targets?
Page speed — < 2s on mobile?
Form length — minimum fields, every required field justified?
Match to ad — does the page deliver on what the ad/SERP promised?
